HalloWOOF 2015

Hi every pawdy, Ziggy here.

On Saturday November 7th, after a bit of a delay due to some terrible Melbourne weather, Elmo, from Doggy Tea Breaks, and I held our first Hallowoof party at my local park, Fawkner Park in South Yarra.

Elmo came dressed as Superman, or should that be Superdog?

The party was open to all breeds and we had a great turn out of about 40 people and pooches.

HalloWOOF 2015

Our buddy Kyo from @kyobooboo was also there to celebrate his birthday, which falls on Halloween every year.  He came dressed as Mad Max - Furry Road.

I dressed up as Darth Ziggy (aka Darth Vader from Star Wars), which has been a bit of an on-going joke with my Instagram pals who follow me at @SawyerSays

All the party pooches did an amazing job with their costumes, too. We had a mix of pumpkins, a fireman, a hammer head shark, a sailor, a ghost and heaps more.  One of our special guests, Midge, who is a big deal on Instagram, came as a witch, but not the ugly kind, the super stylish kind.  Midge is famous for her fashion sense!

However our best dressed prize went to some new park friends, a pair of pugs, whose humans went the extra mile of dressing up as well!  One of them was a dog, which was a little confusing for us actual dogs but was super funny.

Our local celebrity Frenchie, Princess Adelaide, helped to present our winners with their amazing prize of a $100 voucher.

This was donated by our generous friends at Hachi, who also came down to party with us. Abbey and Sally, the oodle owners of Hachi, even brought their owners along, who took lots of photos of the fun day.

As a special Halloween treat, all the pooches that came to our pawty got a free pupcake, which were baked special for the event by The Melbourne Pawtisserie. They also donated a voucher for one of their yummy Bone Barkday cakes for our raffle.

Speaking of which, was was undoubtedly the highlight of the day for pooches alike, was our Hallowoof raffle, which was in aid of raising funds for our friends at Lort Smith Animal Shelter, who haven’t got their own forever homes yet.  My favourite doggy brands were extremely kind and donated a range of amazing gifts to go towards the first prize in our raffle.  Barking Obito, who make healthy dog biscuits of all shapes, flavours and sizes (including my favourite, their Nutty Nanas), gave us two $50 vouchers for our 1st and 2nd prize winners. I helped give out the special Barking Obito Halloween cookies to our doggy party guests (and may have had a few myself).

Heart and Soul Luxury Hampers

Heart and Soul Luxury Hampers, who is owned by my cute oodle friends, Macy and Motsy (they came dress as a shark and a lady bug by the way), made a special Halloween themed hamper just for us to give away!  It was full of lovely fluffy toys and treats us pooches drool over in our dreams. Good thing they now sell specialty hampers just for pooches, I’m already putting in my order for Christmas with mum.

Lort Smith also donated a range of goodies for the raffle, which was won by a very cute young pup called Molly (luck girl).  Our local park Dalmation, Louis, who was also the fireman, got second prize.  All the awesome people who brought tickets in our raffle helped us to raise over $300 for Lort Smith. Mum and I also donated some tasty chews from Get Wag for the pooches still waiting for adoption, along with some of my old toys.

Can’t wait till its Hallowoof time again next year… till then, sniff you all later!

Ziggy
